Hello, dear readers! I am Gaurav Rathaur, a Yoga Science graduate and E-RYT 200 instructor. My journey from the serene banks of Rishikesh, India, to the bustling city of Dubai has been a path of transformation and self-discovery through yoga. I am thrilled to share my story and invite you to join me in my classes at Heal Hub, where we can embark on a journey of wellness and enlightenment together.
From Rishikesh to Dubai: A Journey of Self-Discovery
Born in Rishikesh, the birthplace of yoga, I was fortunate to grow up near the ashram of the great Yogi Baba Shri Neem Karoli Ji Maharaj. My early exposure to yoga practices set me on a path of seeking truth and self-realization. Although my initial dream was to serve my country as a lieutenant, life had other plans for me. After not succeeding in my initial dream, I decided to pursue postgraduate studies in Geology or Yoga Science. Ultimately, my heart led me to choose Yoga Science, and thus began my journey in the world of yoga.
Academic Pursuits and Yogic Enlightenment
I earned my master’s degree in Yogic Science from the University of Patanjali, founded by Swami Ramdev and Acharya Balkirshna. My education was a profound experience, deeply rooted in the traditional teachings of yoga. Coming from a humble family background, with parents who had no formal education, my achievements are a testament to their unwavering support and encouragement.
Spreading the Light of Yoga
Upon completing my master’s degree, I participated in various yoga workshops with renowned schools in Rishikesh. I enriched my knowledge by studying ancient yogic scriptures and practicing meditation under the guidance of esteemed scholars. After completing my 200-hour Yoga Teachers’ Training Course in my birthplace, I felt ready to share my knowledge and passion with the world.
In January 2021, with just a small carry-on luggage and my yoga mat, I landed in Dubai. This marked the beginning of a successful personal and professional journey, where I embraced diverse cultural backgrounds and adapted my yoga skills to a new environment.
Unique Teaching Style and Philosophy
My core strength lies in deconstructing complex yoga poses into manageable parts, enabling students to practice and achieve these poses with greater ease. My signature style helps students gain flexibility, strength, and balance both on and off the mat. Watching students overcome fear, challenges, and difficulties to achieve their goals is what I live for. Many of my students have gone on to become advanced practitioners and successful teachers.
I firmly believe in the transformative power of positive thinking and dedication to yoga practice, both inside and outside the studio. My life motto is: “If your dreams don’t scare you, they are not big enough. So, dream as big as you can.”
